Kristin Rencher, MBA, RTTP*: Kristin is an entrepreneur at heart. Currently she serves as the Director of Innovation Development and Enterprise Advancement (IDEA) at the University of Northern Colorado. She is the former Director of Technology Ventures and Marketing at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and has served as Vice President for Communications for the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).

She is an expert in all facets of technology transfer with particular emphasis on technology marketing, startup development, research collaborations and strategic communications. In her role at OHSU, Kristin co-developed and managed the Innovation and Seed Fund, a suite of programs to support internal technology development (“gap funding”) and startup creation. During her tenure she helped launch over 40 companies. She also managed marketing and communications and was a driving force in the creation the first real time, data-to-web web-based technology marketing and e-licensing systems.

Kristin has a Bachelor of Science with majors in bioscience and music, and a Master of Business Administration in technology entrepreneurship and law. Prior to technology transfer, Kristin had two careers – one in finance where she learned the ins-and-outs of investment and equity financing, and the other as CEO of a startup nonprofit medical association.
